How the carbon laser peel works
A thin layer of medical-grade liquid carbon is applied to the skin, where it penetrates the pores and adheres to oil, dirt and dead skin cells. A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is then passed over the skin in two stages: first to heat the carbon and warm the follicle walls, then to vaporise the carbon layer and everything it has bonded to. The photothermal effect also stimulates collagen production in the dermis, making it both a corrective and a regenerative treatment.
